The Chipembele Nature Field Centre is a pioneering conservation education hub located in Zambia’s Lower Lupande Game Management Area, adjacent to South Luangwa National Park. Designed to immerse local youth in the natural world, the Centre combines ecological learning, hands-on fieldwork, and sustainable architecture to foster a deep connection to Zambia’s unique biodiversity. The facility is built on a 16-hectare wilderness site gifted to Chipembele Wildlife Education Trust and aims to empower the next generation of conservation leaders. With outdoor classrooms, wildlife observation points, community engagement spaces, and partnerships with conservation organizations like CSL and the Zambian Carnivore Programme, the Centre offers experiential education that blends science, culture, and environmental stewardship. Rooted in sustainability, the design respects the surrounding ecosystem and serves as a model for replicable, community-driven conservation education across Africa.
